BC’s interior is blessed with tremendous balsam understory. Moose are critically dependent upon balsam for there winter diet. By harvesting stands in a careful manner leaving as much balsam as possible we improve moose habitat. By some estimates moose are an indicator of 80 percent of biodiversity in a boreal forest so if a forest is fit for a moose it is fit a whole pile of critters.
